From Deep Dish to High Tower
So the top of Sears Tower has a sweet view. Oh and its called Willis Tower now.
City spires
This this rules. Behold the Art Deco and molten plastic goodness!
There were a few pizza places in the area and we thought we had to try some Chicago deep dish to stay in line with eating the local food (F you philly). As I went to feed the little parking kiosk Matthew ordered us some slices.
Why are cities famous for awful food?
The pizza we got at least, tasted like ellios microwaved pizza. This was our cue to leave the city.
These are just two pieces of art in the Museum that I thought were incredible. They're Japanese in origin and from the Jomon period I believe...
Side note for them is you can still see the influence of this style throughout current Japanese art, even down into the video games.
dang
Some new car scribbles too. Melting skull
Modern Millennium
After we woke up from the debaucherous nights sleep, we packed up our things and said bye to Parker. Once the car was loaded up, we drove to Millennium Park through downtown Chicago.
Chicago's skyline is awesome
If you've never seen the bean, it's trippier than this picture shows
Matthew loved this Amphitheater and the back drop for it.
This would definitely be one of the coolest places to see your favorite show I imagine.
I mean... look at it.
The faces are never the same right?
Bp (bowl pack) bridge
This park was incredible. It shown brightly with all kinds of polished stainless steel and just a really visually pleasing style. Clean and well maintained Millennium Park had workers all over it, either tending to grass, dirt and leaves, trash, or just walking around. That being said, it didn't feel like they were watching the moves of all the people enjoying the public space. They were just hangin out with each other and doing their jobs keeping the place nice.
It was a nice change from the city workers I know from pretty much anywhere else I've been before.
From the park we took a walking bridge into the Modern Wing, of the Art Institutes Museum.
How could I not like this museum?
please take one .
yes, this is all art. and yes. it blows my mind.
Ok well. this one has awesome color even though I still don't get the content
So, Chicago has a lot of things that are right up my alley from what I've seen so far. It's definitely a place to come back to, if just to look at all the art strewn through out the whole city.
We, (I), could've walked around in that museum alone for the entire day, but, we had some famous style of pizza to conquer and a tall tower to scale..

Parkers the man
If you didn't already know, now you do.
After we slept at a truck stop roughly 35 minutes north of where Parker lives in Chicago, we drove back south to meet up and found our man, on the corner of Kimball and Parker (heh) essentially. In a part known as Logan square.
First things first. Enjoy the Purple Object.
Parkers pad (middle right apt)
rents way cheaper in this part of Chicago than it is at home
After we smoked and got semi-caught up we played wedraw through some logitech keyboard system. I'm not going to try and explain what it actually was other than digital pictionary.
A few games of that plus two six packs of Chicago (or other surrounding places) microbrews it was time to hit up another apartment of kids down by Lincoln Park.
took chicagos fine public transport
I hope I still remember the names correctly of who we met... there was a Billy, a Craig, a Blake ...and definitely more but we got hammered so I'm lucky I still know those names.
Cool kids.
Craig showed us the algorithms to complete a rubicks cube quickly and efficiently. These are the skills I've been looking to learn on the road. Seriously
Matthew on the Cube
